THey charge fees on a free student checking account. Charge overdraft fees when there is still a positive balance on the account. When I called in the rep was rude and tried to keep me from talking to a supervisor. They are rude and just trying to make $ anywhere and everywhere they can...even when it is obvious they are in the wrong

Very true

Be careful with mortgages too. They said they would refinance and give me a lower rate - everything would stay the same. NOW I find out they depreciated my home value and I am paying longer on my PMI, costing me more. I called the bank and spent over an hour being transferred around when all I wanted to know was what amount my home needs to be appraised at to get my PMI off. Unbelievable!

I am so disapointed with US Bank. I have had so many charges for such redicules things. I went to an atm to get money, I didn't have enough to get the requested amount so they charge me a $2.50 fee. Can you believe that. So now I'm down another $2.50 and then another $2.50 for going to a non US Bank ATM. Unbelievable. I just can't comprehend how they can legally do this.
Second issue today, I cancelled some bill pay payments online and I knew I should have called them because they were going to screw me over. Guess what, I called them because the payment went through, it overdrew my account and they said "you never cancelled that payment". I could have bet a million dollars they were going to do that, just so they could get my $35. I work my butt off to have money and my Financial Institute, US Bank, loves to rip me off!! I hate this bank so much now.!!!

Ive been banking with US bank for over 10 years. In a rush I attempted to transfer money from one account to another account using their website, which was recently remodeled. I made the transfer of 100.00 dollars and later found out that the transfer did not go through, that instead of a transfer a payment was made to checking account advance account, I did not notice this until the next day. 24 hrs later I look at my account and I have six over draft charges on my account. I called the bank and tried to explain to them that I made the transfer of funds and they told me that it was my mistake, not a bank error and they had no sympathy for the 208.00 dollars that I had to pay them for over draft charges on my account. I tried calling back and speaking to somoene else and was treated even worse. I am closing my account with them as soon as I receive my new checking account and routing number with a new bank. Totally disrespectful and rude customer service which is why they must have removed that 5 star customer service poster from all their banks. I litterally get disgusted just logging into their app or website and cant wait till I can say good bye for good to these crooks.

Been with us bank for 3 years now, loved banking with them the first year and after that noticed it started going down hill. I started noticing how rude the customer service became and how they charged for the littlest things. Lately I have noticed it finally hit rock bottom they charge over draft fees where they shouldnt be charged, they charge monthly maintenance fees even with depositing the monthly required amount, they also even started charging if they transfer your savings account funds to checking if you go negative have never heard of a such thing to charge someone 7 dollars to transfer there own money I am soon closing my account as soon as I have my new bank set up and have been letting all my customers know about me new bank and try to get then to switch. I actually even talked my boss into closing the store account through them. I will never recommend this bank to anyone. It is the biggest horror story.

A month ago I opened a student account with this bank, I am a full time college student and I work part time on the weekends - I get paid cash and had been thinking it would be nice to have an option for a debit card so I wouldn't have to carry money with me at all times. The student account here was free so I decided to go ahead and get an account.
On 8/29 I opened the account and put in 60$, a week later I received the debit card and logged in to my account to activate it, and found that someone wrote a check for over 1, 000 dollars on my account on the 29th(hit my account on the 2nd). A check on an account I hadn't even been given checks for yet!

I went in and closed my account that same day, and the teller gave me my money back and told me that the check was a counter check printed out there at the branch when I opened the account, but for some unknown reason was never given. She looked and said she did not find anything else pending on the account, put a fraud alert on my information and closed the account. I was mad that this would have happened, but figured that the worst was over. Far from the end of this story.

Two weeks later on 9/19 I got a letter from the bank about a loan "I" had taken out. The loan was denied because it was not enough money for the bank to be willing to cover, but now we go back the teller having told me the account had been locked down.
I went in to find out what was going on, and the same teller who closed the account told me that it was a loan for overdraft protection. I told her I did not get the overdraft protection because the woman who opened my account had told me that since I have no employer name to file under or direct deposit I couldn't apply for it.

The teller then says that that isn't true and that it is free with the student account. A "free" loan? What?

I now have no idea what else is coming my way and because of this bank’s allowing an identity thief to work there I had to put out fraud alerts on my credit reports and sign up for lifelock.

Thanks so much U.S. Bank; two things I never had to do before I dealt with you.

Bad experiences almost everytime. One of the worst. One example; they would not deposit a check, even with a hold, because the ID used was the same ID the account was opened with. I had to go home and get an utility bill for ID. There was then a change in management, I thought things would get better. It worsened. Recently they would not deposit a $100 bill, with ID, until the teller had talked to 4 other people. It was finally in, showed up in the account then was taken off of the account. They put $100 cash on hold! My son bought a $5 sandwich and they then charged overdraft fees!
It's ridiculous you can not put money into your account.

Have always received great customer service from US Bank. The only downside is that ATMs aren't all over the place like Bank of America and Wells Fargo. I'v only banked at US Bank so take that into consideration on my experience with other banks but also keep in mind I've never wanted/needed to change banks.
